Best of Superbowl LVI
It's been my practice to recap those Superbowl ads which really packed a punch. For the past few years, I haven't watched the game for several reasons: Hello, pandemic. Hi, racial injustice and inequity at the NFL.
But this year, I had to tune in. After a six-year hiatus, the Super Bowl returned to the Golden State and was held inside California's SoFi Stadium, which opened in September of 2020. The home of the Rams and Chargers, SoFi is located in Inglewood, about a 20-minute drive from Los Angeles. The Rams were going to play in their new home and the crowds were fully back (and vaxed). The energy that came with all of that was sure to be incredible.
Most importantly - Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Snoop, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar were going to perform at the halftime. Hip-hop was in the building in a big way.
Again, I had to tune in.
The game didn't disappoint - congratulations to the Rams. The halftime show was one of the best I've ever watched.
The ads were just alright. I'll admit that I didn't even watch most of the broadcast and give thanks to my Google Home. I instructed it to alert me when the halftime show started.
I did catch a few spots and am highlighting them and that killer halftime below. The ads went for about 7 million bucks each. Were they worth it? I guess time will tell.
If you know me, you know I love Serena. She inspires each and every time.

Along the same lines, this one featuring Lebron was too good.

The ad for Bel-Air is fire.

And last but not least, the halftime show. I could watch this again and again.
Iconic.
What'd you think?
