I Spent Wednesday Night in a Train Station.
Normally, I write about cause marketing, non-profit and social media stuff but every now and then, a blogger needs a break. This week I was long over-due for one and on Wednesday night, there was no place that I would have rather been than at the New York Transit Museum for a fabulous event hosted by Smirnoff. Called Subsessions: A Journey Through Hip Hop, the party celebrated the energy of the last 30-years of hip hop with legendary artists of the past, present and future. In the house were the likes of Biz Markie, Jermaine Dupri and DJ Peanut Butter Wolf.Subsessions is part of Smirnoff’s THERE campaign. THERE is described as, “a global rallying cry for individuals to seek out more extraordinary, unexpected, inexplicable experiences in their lives. THERE is when you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world. THERE happens when you have the right people, in the right place, at the right time.”The aforementioned hit the nail right on the head. I had a blast with my BFFs Mike and Ricky. Don’t believe me? Here’s the proof:When is the last time you rocked out to A Tribe Called Quest's 'Check the Rhime’ and partied with hip-hop pioneers all while on a train platform? Here’s to more of the same this year…Follow the campaign at www.facebook.com/smirnoff
